Soccer Commercial

This was one of my favorite commercial back in 2001.
I think it's a great commercial and it's funny. Nike was obviously supporting all the merchandise for the Brazil team in the 2002 World Cup.
Hope you find it funny just like I do.

Different "view"

This, I had to post!! It seems more like I am trying to advertise this product, but no. I saw these glasses and thought: I've never seen this before! And as a person who constantly has to wear glasses and knows what "asymmetrical face" means..well this is just fantastic!!

Ads with animals

These are two cute examples of ads with animals. I found them very funny! :D

The first says: "EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE A DOG" and the second one says "FOR STRONGER, HEALTHIER PUPPIES".

They both make a lot of sense and certainly catch our attention!

Wrong types of messages..

Here you can see a very think young catwalk model.
The message she and the agency she works for send is unbelievable wrong.
Hopefully these models will stop working one day so they'll have time to see themselves in the mirror and realize they are killing themselves for a bunch of dirty money!

Colorful and innovative ad!

This is the perfect example of a great ad.
It first came out 4 or 5 years ago to advertise the new Ipod generation. This ad is not only colorful but also innovative. It makes a lot more sense when we see 5 or 6 of them back to back! It is more powefull. The message I read is : no matter who you are, what you like, how you like to dress or where you come from, if you want to listen to music you need an IPOD! Apple still uses this approach to advertise new versions of its mp3 players, and I have to say..it still works!!

Example of Deceptive advertising!
You can try as many times as you want, or try as hard as you can...there is no way you can get your eyelashes like hers! :(
Too bad, 'cos they look really good!!

First 3 weeks of Advertising

In the first three week of my ADVERTISING class I learned that no matter what you advertise you need to catch people attention. Therefore, advertisers' job isn't as easy as it may seems. First of all the need to target a certain group of people (i.e. little kids as opposed to elderly people). Once they determined who they want to advertise their products to and how they want to reach them, they need to be extremely creative. The use of catchy slogans or jingles, powerful colors or famous people in the ad is a good start.
Moreover, in these few weeks we learned that very often, ads are deceiving and that real products are not always exactly what they look like in those ads. We learned to be active part of the process; by this I mean we need to be responsible and aware of what we chose to buy.
Ethics issue also take part of the advertising process. In class we looked at some bad taste commercials/ads and discussed how poor the content was. Agencies should try to be more innovative but sometimes they just "go" for the money.
